Louise Kotowicz, 99, formerly of 74 Greenwich St., died Sunday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Lubenia, Poland, on Dec. 13, 1904, daughter of Anthony and Mary Szczepan, she attended schools there.
She emigrated to Brooklyn, N.Y., in December 1938 and lived there until 1954, when she moved to Cheshire. She moved to Pittsfield later.
Mrs. Kotowicz was a seamstress.
She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and storytelling.
Her husband, Henry Kotowicz, whom she married Nov. 19, 1925, in Lubenia, Poland, died Jan. 13, 1999.
She leaves a son, Walter T. Kotowicz of Pittsfield; a daughter, Jane Walenczyk of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Louise Kotowicz died Sunday, Oct. 31, at Berkshire Medical Center. The funeral will be tomorrow, Nov. 3, at 8:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Holy Family Church celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Church in care of the funeral home. She was the beloved mother-in-law to Marie Kotowicz and Eugene Walenczyk, both of Pittsfield.
She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Ann and Diane Kotowicz of Pittsfield, Eugene M. Walenczyk of New Jersey, Joanne Walenczyk and Susan Slaybaugh, both of New York, and Katherine Boeskin of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by a grandson, Kevin Kotowicz. She enjoyed being with her family.
