Katherine M. DiPietro, 74, of 232 High St. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Philadelphia on Jan. 24, 1930, daughter of Girolamo and Olga Kynsh Selvaggio, she attended schools there and in Pittsfield.
She moved to Dalton in 1961.
Mrs. DiPietro was employed by GE as a winder in the power transformer department for 22 years, retiring in 199l. During the late 1940s, she was employed by the former Mercury Laundry in Pittsfield.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and a member of the GE Pensioners' Club and AARP.
She was a Red Sox fan and enjoyed going to casinos and cooking.
She and her husband, Adrian R. DiPietro, were married Nov. 29, 1947, at Mount Carmel Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Theodore R. DiPietro and Joseph M. DiPietro, both of Dalton; three daughters, Adrianna E. Laundry of Raleigh, N.C., Joanne M. Hessler of Pittsfield and Debra J. Caden of Dalton; a brother, Anthony Selvaggio of Pittsfield; a sister, Roseanne Labbe of Dunedin, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Katherine M. DiPietro, who died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife.
The funeral for Mrs. DiPietro will be Thursday, Nov. 4, at 9:15, from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Agnes Church' celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. DiPietro may be made to UNICO Make-a-Wish Foundation in care of the funeral home.
