James Robert Flynn, 26, of 81 West Housatonic St. died Tuesday morning at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield on March 11, 1978, son of James R. Rand of Pittsfield and Carol Ann Flynn DiFilippo of Pittsfield, he attended local schools.
Mr. Flynn had been employed as a laborer at The Berkshire Eagle and also had worked at the former Berkshire Nursing Home.
He enjoyed four-wheeling, baseball and football.
Besides his parents, he leaves his stepfather, Joseph DiFilippo; his stepmother, Patricia Rand; three brothers, Herbert F. Harford III, Timothy J. Harford and Jay R. Rand, all of Pittsfield; two sisters, Charlynn Rand and Tammy Ann Simmons of Pittsfield; three stepsisters, Jennifer DiFilippo, Angela DiFilippo and Stephanie DiFilippo, all of Pittsfield; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Flynn of Pittsfield, and his paternal grandfather, Robert Rand of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for James R. Flynn, who died Oct. 19, 2004, will be conducted Friday at 2 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., by the Rev. William D. Furey, pastor of the Berkshire Union Chapel.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Pop Warner Football program in care of the funeral home.
James is lovingly survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, and by Becky Ellsworth, who has been motherly to him.
