Barbara L. Daley, 77, 15491 Garfield St., Salem, Ohio, formerly of Pittsfield, died Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth's Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 5, 1926, daughter of Allen and Verda Burdick Wood, she attended local schools.
She moved to Ohio in 1955.
Mrs. Daley was employed as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney and at Sears, from which she recently retired, both in Ohio.
She also had worked in private home health care.
She attended Real Life Assembly in Salem.
Her husband, Nelson E. Daley, whom she married July 6, 1946, died Dec. 31, 1990.
She leaves four daughters, Barbara Scharver of Magnolia, Ohio, Kathy Freeland and Melissa Ault, both of North Jackson, Ohio, and Deborah Daley of Salem; four sons, Nelson Daley of Lee, Kevin Daley of Berlin Center, Ohio, and David Daley and Scott Daley, both of Salem; three brothers, James Wood of Amarillo, Texas, Lawrence Wood of Westfield, and Kenneth Wood of Pittsfield; six sisters, Carolyn Houghtaling of Lee, Helen Schiffman of Pittsfield, Charlotte Zehe of St. Petersburg, Fla., Shirley Desmond of Southwich, Vera Hasletine and Beverly Bates, both of St. Augustine, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Barbara L. Daley died Oct. 19, 2004. Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 on Thursday at Real Life Assembly in Salem, two hours prior to the funeral service at 7. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 1815 West Market St., Suite 108, Akron, OH 44313.
