Thomas A. "Chuck" Raimer

Thomas A. "Chuck" Raimer, 78, of 36 Imperial Ave., died Thursday, Oct. 14, at home after a long illness.
Born in Adams on March 29, 1926, the son of John and Elizabeth Burke Raimer, he attended schools in Adams and Savoy.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served in the European/German theater of operations. He served from 1942 to 1945 and was honorably discharged and received decorations for his service, including the Bronze Star.
Mr. Raimer was employed for a short time at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Corp. in Adams and was later employed with the former Adams Supermarket, where he was supervisor of management. He retired in 1982 after 39 years with the company.
He and his wife, the former Mildred G. LaCasse, were married on Nov. 9, 1946, at Notre Dame de Septe Douleurs in Adams.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Thomas D. Raimer of Stephentown, N.Y., and Alan J. Raimer of Pittsfield; a daughter, Diane E. Dupee of Pittsfield; three sisters, Elizabeth V. Dupee and Helen Malloy, both of Adams, and Dorothy Raimer of Cheshire, and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Chuck Raimer will be Monday at 9:15 from the MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrating his life at 10 in the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Adams.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 at the funeral home, 2-8 Liberty St., Adams. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
He was predeceased by four brothers and a grandson.
