Theodore G. Richardson

Theodore G. Richardson, 81, of 291 Stevens Glen Road died Friday at Southern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. after collapsing while playing golf at Equinox Golf Course in Manchester, Vt.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 15, 1923, son of Frank and Frieda VonPlessman Richardson, he was educated in schools there and was a 1945 graduate of Colgate University.

He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.

After the service, he entered the insurance field and became vice president of Brown and Crosby Insurance Brokers in New York, retiring in 1972 at age 49.

He was a member and past secretary of the Stockbridge Golf Club, a member of the Pittsfield Country Club, and an overseer at Hancock Shaker Village.

He was also past president of the Westhampton Country Club on Long Island.

He and his wife, the former Ingrid Barmen, were married Dec. 4, 1965.

Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Ann R. Fiteni of Wilton, Conn., and two grandchildren. A son, Peter V. Richardson, died in July of 1979.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Theodore G. Richardson, who died Oct. 8, 2004, will be conducted Friday, Oct. 15, at 11 at First Congregational Church in Stockbridge.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to Hancock Shaker Village, the Berkshire Humane Society or to Berkshire Music School, each in care of KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.

He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Andrew and J.P. Fiteni.
