Thomas A. Cornellier, 59, of 22 Merriam St. died Thursday night at Baystate Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Westfield on Dec. 30, 1944, son of the late Bernard W. Cornellier and Mary Duga Cornellier Walsh, he moved to Dalton at the age of 6 and was a 1962 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
Mr. Cornellier was employed as an assembler and technician for 41 years at the former General Electric defense systems plant, now General Dynamics, retiring May 1, 2003.
He enjoyed playing golf, swimming and traveling.
He leaves his wife, the former Susan M. Noll, whom he married June 26, 1980.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Thomas A. Cornellier, 59, died Sept. 16, 2004. A private family funeral will be held at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Peter Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Street Cemetery in Dalton. In respecting Tom's wishes, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Cardiology Education and Research Fund at Baystate Medial Center or to the charity of one's choosing in care of the funeral home.
He is also lovingly survived and will be sorely missed by his nieces and nephews, Kerry Sawtelle, Donna Sheldon, Keith Sawtelle, Darrin Branson, and Matthew, Jonathan and Suzanne Trusz; several greatnieces and greatnephews; his father- and mother-in-law, Stanley Sr. and Betty Noll; a brother-in-law, Stanley Noll Jr.; a brother- and sister-in-law, Walter and Sally Trusz, and his dear friend from age 6 and golfing partner, Butch Mack.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Joan A. Sawtelle, on Feb. 22, 1967, and Gail F. Branson, on Nov. 27, 2000.
