Judith A. Lamoureux, 62, of Briggs Avenue died Thursday at home after a long illness.
Born in Hartford, Conn., on April 29, 1942, daughter of Lorraine St. Onge Lamoureux of Easthampton and the late Norman Leo Lamoureux, she was a 1960 graduate of St. Michael's High School in Northampton and a 1963 graduate of Mercy Hospital's School of Radiology Technology.
She also attended Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee and Berkshire Community College, where she maintained a dean's list average.
Ms. Lamoureux was employed as a staff technician for X-ray and nuclear medicine at the former Hillcrest Hospital, retiring in 1989. In 1963, she began work as a staff technician at Holyoke Hospital, and became chief technician in 1966.
She took a teaching position in 1969 at St. Vincent's Hospital and Quinsigamond College, then moved to Pittsfield in 1972.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church. Her published poetry and photography are available at the Library of Congress.
She enjoyed gourmet cooking, reading, gardening and fishing, and her cat, Miss Sweetheart, her companion of 19 years.
Besides her mother, she leaves two brothers, Jeffrey Lamoureux of Southampton and Richard Lamoureux of Harvey, La.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Judith A. Lamoureux will be Wednesday at 10:30 at BOUCHER-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, Easthampton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Donations are suggested for the Shriners' Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 001104.
