Filomena L. Westbrook, 74, of 12 Gifford St. died Monday at home, following a brief illness.
Born in Waterbury, Conn., on Aug. 29, 1929, daughter of Nicholas and Jenny Fiore Tiscione, she attended schools in Waterbury and Meriden, Conn., and was a 1947 graduate of Meriden High School.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1957.
Mrs. Westbrook was employed as an assistant cook at Pittsfield High School for 17 years, retiring in 1992.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. She was named Volunteer of the Year in 2002 by the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and was a member of the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center and Quality Time Club.
She enjoyed cooking, square dancing, traveling and going to casinos.
She and her husband, Donald O. Westbrook, were married July 27, 1957.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Donna L. Walsh of Winslow, Maine; a brother, Nicholas Tiscione of Naugatuck, Conn., and three grandchildren. A son, Robert D. Westbrook, died April 2, 1986, in a truck accident.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Filomena L. Tiscione Westbrook, who died Aug. 23, 2004, will be Friday, Aug. 27, at 9 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 80 Morningview Drive, by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor.
Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, Aug. 26, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Mrs. Westbrook is survived by three grandchildren, Daniel, Jonathan and Adriana Walsh, and a son-in-law, Stephen Walsh. She was predeceased by three sisters, Antoinette DeSantis, Anna Capozzi and Clara Battelli, and a brother, Louis Tiscione.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Melanoma Research Foundation, 24 Old Georgetown Road, Princeton, NJ 08540 or in care of the funeral home.
