Eric P. Newton, 28, of 15 Briggs Ave. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident that night.
Born in Pittsfield on July 9, 1976, son of Henry T. and Susan M. Colvin Newton of Pittsfield, he moved to Florida at a young age, returning to Pittsfield in 1993 and graduating from Pittsfield High School in 1995.
Mr. Newton was employed as a truck driver for McKnights Landscaping.
He and his wife, the former Mandy Jo Christopher, were married in First Baptist Church on Sept. 4, 1999.
Besides his parents and his wife, he leaves two sons, Mason R. Newton and Dylan M. Newton, both at home; two brothers, Henry "Hank" Newton of Dalton and Carl Shaw of Pittsfield; two sisters, Tammy Shaw-Boone and Jody Desrochers, both of Bradenton, Fla., and his grandparents, Nick and Vera Carder of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mr. Eric P. Newton, 28, died in Pittsfield on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 11 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, by the Rev. Robert Rennie of First Baptist Church in Pittsfield.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today, Aug. 17, from 4 to 7. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Mandy Jo Newton for their family, in care of the funeral home.
