Christine Marie Lorenz, 53, of 65 Dalton Ave. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 29, 1950, daughter of Robert W. Finnegan Sr. and Mary E. Weldon Finnegan, she was a 1969 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Lorenz was last employed as a waitress at the Highland Restaurant for 10 years, leaving in 2001 because of poor health. She also had worked as a nurse's assistant for 10 years at the former Hillcrest Hospital.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the beach in Maine and to movies.
She and her husband, Walter A. Lorenz, were married March 22, 1969.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Bradley W. Lorenz and Robert A. Lorenz, both of Pittsfield; a stepdaughter, Cheryl L. Halliwell of Stockport Offerton, England; three brothers, John L. Finnegan of Emerson, N.J., Walter D. Finnegan of Manchester, N.H., and Robert W. Finnegan Jr. of Springfield; three sisters, Barbara A. Adams of Cheshire, Kathleen M. Tatro of Pittsfield and Mary E. Mack of Dalton, and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Christine M. Finnegan Lorenz, who died Aug. 13, 2004, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 at St. Joseph's Cemetery, St. Jude's section, by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor of St. Ann's Church, Lenox.
Calling hours willl be Monday from 4 to 7 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Friends of Renal Dialysis in care of the funeral home.
She is lovingly survived by her six grandchildren, Matthew Lorenz, Chad Lorenz, Crystal Townsend, Patrick Lorenz and Christanny and Kaiden Mark Halliwell. Christine, a woman who loved her family and life itself, will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
