John Chandler Bulger

John Chandler Bulger, 87, of Rosebank Drive died Tuesday at home.
Born in Chicago on April 9, 1917, son of James W. and Marie Chandler Bulger, he was a 1936 graduate of Mount Carmel High School there. He earned a bachelor of science degree from DePaul University in 1940 and a master's degree from Harvard Business School in 1942.
He had lived in White Plains, N.Y., before moving to Lenox in 1987.
Mr. Bulger was employed as a personnel manager by General Foods Corp. for 35 years. He also worked in labor relations, retiring in 1981. He was previously employed by Nabisco Foods.
He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Before suffering a stroke several years ago, he had enjoyed traveling, sailing, playing bridge and tennis.
He and his wife, the former Marguerite Alling, were married May 27, 1948, in New Haven, Conn.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, J. Christopher Bulger of Lexington, Ky.; two daughters, Kathleen Ann Cleary of Lenox and Mary Louise Bullock of Dublin, Calif.; two brothers, William P. Bulger of Milwaukee and James Bulger of Chicago; a sister, Rita Ferguson of Chicago, and eight grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for John C. Bulger, who died July 27, 2004, will be Friday at 10:15 from ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at St. Ann's Church by the Rev. Daniel Brunton, chaplain at Providence Care Center in Lenox and pastor emeritus of St. Ann's. Calling hours will be today, July 29, from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Private burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to St. Ann's Church in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
Mr. Bulger is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Daniel, Kevin and Niall Cleary; Nolan, Megan and Molly Bulger, and Chandler and MacKenzie Bullock.
