Betty Ives, 59, of Robert Street died Monday at home after fighting Alzheimer's disease for several years.
Born in Canaan, Conn., on Aug. 21, 1944, she was the daughter of Sniffin and Florence Carlson Ives.
She leaves five sisters, Rosalie Muehlberger of Syracuse, N.Y., Ingrid Ives of Tallahassee, Fla., Joan Ives Bentley of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Pam Ives of Canaan and Ina Ives Rice of Winsted, Conn., and two brothers, Peter Ives of Canaan and William Ives of Waterbury, Conn.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Betty will be remembered for making us all laugh and, in doing so, giving us a lighter heart. She also is survived by her second family, the staff of Berkshire County Association of Retarded Citizens.
The funeral will be today, July 28, at 2 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkshire County ARC through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
