Marie Anne White

Marie Anne White, 71, of 10 Union Court, died Wednesday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Adams on June 6, 1933, daughter of Clifford E. and Louise M. Greninguey Allen, she was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. White was employed at one time by Sears, Roebuck & Co. and was a teller at the First Agricultural National Bank.
She was also a secretary for the Metal Lathers Union, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners.
Mrs.White attended St. Charles' Church and more recently attended St. Joseph's Church. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Lanesboro and assisted her son in a rescue mission effort for pit bulls.
She enjoyed sewing, indoor gardening and spending time with her family.
Her former husband, Robert J. White Sr., died May 2, 2002.
She leaves a son Robert J. White Jr., of Old Chatham, N.Y.; a daughter, Marie A. "Re-Anne" Mathews of Lanesboro; a sister, Rita Wigglesworth of Lanesboro; five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE-- Marie Anne White, who died Wednesday, July 21, leaves her five grandchildren, Douglas J. White, Jennifer M. White, Jason J. Mathews, Ryan W. Lundergan and Jamie E. Mathews, and her great granddaughter, Hayley L. Shook.
Funeral services for Mrs. White will be held Tuesday, July 27, at 8:15, from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9, at St. Joseph's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams, with the Rev. Robert B. Moulton officiating. Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 25, from 3 to 6 at the funeral home.
She was predeceased by a brother, James Allen, and two sisters, Lucille Lecuyer and Lorraine Barnes. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. White may be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
