Elizabeth A. Gagne

Elizabeth A. Gagne, 81, of 51 North Road, Hancock, N.H., formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H.

Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 9, 1922, daughter of James and Alice Tregaskis Milne, she attended Pittsfield High School and attended nursing school at the former St. Luke's Hospital.

Mrs. Gagne worked as a vision and hearing technician for the Catholic and Pittsfield school systems for many years.

She was a quilting teacher and an active member of the Pamlico River Quilters Guild of Washington, N.C., where she lived from 1989 to 2001. She had enjoyed motorcycling, traveling, camping, picking berries, cooking and flowers.

She also had enjoyed flying with her husband, Thomas A. Gagne, a licensed pilot.

Besides her husband of 62 years, she leaves five sons, Thomas R. Gagne of Beijing, Paul W. Gagne of Lynn, Patrick A. Gagne of Keene, N.H., and Keith J. Gagne and Peter C. Gagne, both of Antrim, N.H.; a daughter, Marie E. McNeil of Philadelphia, Miss.; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services will be private for Elizabeth A. "Betty" Gagne, 81, who died July 17, 2004. There will be no calling hours. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Hancock Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 6, Hancock, NH 03449.

FLETCHER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, N.H., is in charge of arrangements. She was to her husband and family the greatest and most valued treasure of their lives. She loved every aspect of her life, and flowers made her smile.

Greatest woman and Mother one could ever know. She was loved and respected by everyone she knew. Great thing about her. She could certainly shift a four speed better than most men I know. Expecially a 62 Corvet
