Helene Austin, 91, of Kimball Farms died Sunday morning at its nursing care center.
Born in New York City on July 25, 1912, daughter of Harry and Marie Humm Hastorf, she attended schools there, in White Plains, N.Y., and in Chevy Chase, Md.
She had lived in Glens Falls, N.Y., for several years until moving to Kimball Farms shortly after it opened in the 1980s.
A homemaker, Mrs. Austin enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and had been a member of the Glens Falls Garden Club.
Her husband, H. Burr Austin, whom she married in 1934 in White Plains, died January 1980.
She leaves a daughter, Susan A. Marcy of Lillian, Ala., a sister, Harriet Griffen of Syracuse, N.Y., four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Philip Burr Austin, died Oct. 15, 1987.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Helene Austin, who died Sunday, July 18, 2004, will be conducted at a later date to be announced. There will be no calling hours; burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in care of ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. She also leaves her niece, Gail Reddick of Syracuse.
