Robert C. Martin, 83, of Medford (N.J.) Leas retirement community, a native of Pittsfield, died Saturday at home.
Born on May 2, 1921, son of Stanley Martin Sr. and Grace Martin, he graduated with honors from Pittsfield High School and at the top of his class from Boston University, despite being stricken with polio as a teenager.
Mr. Martin was employed by RCA in Camden, N.J., as a contract negotiation manager.
He enjoyed the symphony, reading and working in his garden.
His wife, the former Elizabeth Hepburn, died in 1984.
He leaves a brother, Stanley Martin Jr. of Columbia, S.C.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Cremation and services for Robert C. "Bob" Martin, 83, who died July 17, 2004, were private and at the convenience of the family. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 21, at 10:30 at Locustwood Memorial Park, Route 70 West, Cherry Hill, N.J.
Mr. Martin's friends are invited to bring fresh flowers from their gardens to share with him. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Janet Martin of Columbia, S.C.; several nieces and nephews, and a dear friend, Virginia Hanratty of Medford Leas.
Arrangements are under the direction of MATHIS FUNERAL HOME in Medford, N.J.
