Everett C. Oles

Everett C. Oles, 84, of Main Street died Friday at home from complications related to Parkinson's disease.
Born in Winchester, Conn., on March 11, 1920, he was the son of John and Lavina Turner Oles.
Mr. Oles was a longtime farmer in New York state and worked for a number of years for Arnoff Movers of Lakeville, Conn.
He enjoyed country music and traveling.
He and his wife, the former Gertrude L. Lasher, were married 57 years.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Charles F. Oles of Bennington, Vt., and Everett C. Oles Jr. of Millerton, N.Y.; two daughters, Patricia M. Mansfield of Pittsfield and Rosemary E. O'Connell of Coeymans, N.Y.; four sisters, Beatrice Benedict of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Ruth Brands of Newburgh, N.Y., Gertrude Tarkas of Hyde Park, N.Y., and Lavina Lasher of Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; a brother, Ralph Oles of the state of Florida; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Another son, William H. "Willy" Oles, died Dec. 11, 2000.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Everett C. Oles, 84, who died July 16, 2004, will be celebrated tomorrow, July 20, at noon at Irondale Cemetery in Millerton, N.Y. A calling hour will be held tomorrow from 10:30 to 11:30 at KENNY FUNERAL HOME, 41 Main St., Sharon, Conn.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Dalton Rescue Squad in his memory. Mr. Oles also enjoyed an occasional beer and a good joke.
