Robert Bartlett Burbank, 67, of 364 Hinsdale Road died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 4, 1937, son of William J. and Thelma M. Bartlett Burbank, he was a 1955 graduate of the former Dalton High School.
He attended DeVrey Technical Institute in Chicago.
He served in the Air Force.
Mr. Burbank was employed in the shipping department at GE for 27 years, retiring in 1993. After his retirement, he worked at Penney's at the Berkshire Mall for nine years. Earlier, he worked for the Dalton Highway and Water Department for 10 years and the former Sprague Products in North Adams for five years.
From 1968 to 1978, he served as reserve officer with the Dalton Police Department.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dalton.
An avid motorcyclist enthusiast, he took great pride in the upkeep of his motorcycle and cars.
He enjoyed working in his yard, and loved cats.
He and his wife, the former Marlene F. Schnopp, were married Oct. 13, 1962, in the First Congregational Church of Dalton.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Brian K. Burbank of Unionville, Conn., a daughter, Brenda L. Burbank of Dalton, and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Robert Bartlett Burbank, who died Wednesday, June 30, will be Tuesday, July 6, at 11 at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with the Rev. Robert Kyte, pastor of First Congregational Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Main Street Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dalton Ambulance and Rescue Fund in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton.
Mr. Burbank leaves his two grandchildren, Jenessa and Travis, his daughter-in-law, Laurie M. Burbank, and his cat, "Cream Puff." He was predeceased by his brother, Charles A. Burbank.
