William Francis Pidgin Jr

William Francis Pidgin Jr., 55, of 235 Eddy St., San Francisco, a native of Pittsfield, died Friday at home, following a long illness.

Born June 4, 1949, son of Dorothy A. Brown Pidgin of Pittsfield and the late William F. Pidgin Sr., he was a 1967 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

He had resided in California since 1981.

Mr. Pidgin had been employed as a bank teller in San Francisco, retiring in 1985 because of ill health. He also had worked as a bank teller in Albany, N.Y., for 10 years.

He was a former communicant of Notre Dame Church.

Besides his mother, he leaves a brother, Richard J. Pidgin of Pittsfield, and two sisters, Bevery A. Dufur of Pittsfield and Denise M. Pidgin of St. Petersburg, Fla.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service William Francis Pidgin Jr., formerly of Pittsfield, who died June 25, 2004, will be conducted Friday at 8 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev William D. Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel in Lanesboro.

Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Mr. Pidgin's father, William F. Pidgin Sr., died Dec. 4, 1972. He also leaves two nieces, Marcia A. Lillie of Lee and Billie-Jo Peaslee of Pittsfield, and two grandnieces, Tori M. Peaslee of Pittsfield and Kylee M. Lillie of Lee.
