Marilyn J. "Lynn" Frongillo

Marilyn J. "Lynn" Frongillo, 71, of 400 Forest Hill Drive, Littleton, N.C., died Wednesday while viewing Lake Irene in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.

She had also resided at Sun-N-Fun Park in Sarasota, Fla.

Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 24, 1932, daughter of Reginald Berle and Marjorie Brown Thompson, she was a 1950 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She also graduated from Tufts University with a degree in physical education.

Primarily a homemaker, she had been employed in the retail sector in sporting goods, ski apparel and stationery.

Mrs. Frongillo was a past president and life member of the Lake Gaston Ladies Club in North Carolina and enjoyed traveling, skiing, crafts and playing golf.

She had written and directed many plays at the Sun-N-Fun Park, where she was also involved in other volunteer activities.

She and her husband, Robert L. Frongillo, were married Sept. 17, 1955.

Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Richard L. Frongillo of Mammoth Lakes, Calif., Ronald L. Frongillo of Boone, N.C., and Randall L. Frongillo of Littleton, Colo.; a daughter, Lynda Pierce of Westfield; a sister, Glenys Holms of Satellite Beach, Fla., and 10 grandchildren. Another son, Robert L. Frongillo Jr., died in 1996.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Marilyn Frongillo will be conducted Friday at 1 at First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield by the Rev. Dr. Roger Davis, pastor.

Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 10 to noon at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. A brother, Berle Thompson, predeceased her. Lynn lived every day to the fullest. Her enthusiasm and joy for life was contagious. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word on her lips.

Her spirit will live on through those who loved her. If friends desire, donations are suggested to the Robert L. Frongillo Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
