Fernand T. Lemieux

Fernand T. Lemieux, 76, of 245 Cheshire Road died Friday at 44 Sampson Parkway, the home of his daughter Nancy Monti.

Born in Littleton, N.H., on Dec. 1, 1927, son of Antonio and Marion Brusseau Lemieux, he graduated in 1945 from Littleton High School.

He moved to Pittsfield in 1951.

Mr. Lemieux was employed as a mail carrier for 21 years by the U.S. Postal Service in Pittsfield, retiring in 1987.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He was a member of the Berkshire Hills Country Club, and enjoyed horse racing and other sports.

He was an avid Red Sox fan. A league bowler at Ken's Bowl for many years, he bowled a perfect 300 there Sept. 18, 1980.

He and his wife, the former Rosemary Ryan, were married Dec. 27, 1954.

Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves three other daughters, Karen M. Lemieux, Susan T. McCauley and Patricia J. Lemieux, all of Pittsfield; a son, Brian G. Lemieux of Dawsonville, Ga., a sister, Janet Bessette of Eureka, Calif., and 12 grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Fernand T. Lemieux, who died June 25, 2004, will be Tuesday, June 29, at 8:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 in St. Joseph's Church by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, June 28, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to BMC Friends of Renal Dialysis in care of the funeral home, 776 North St. Beloved grandfather to Shannon Lemieux; Marissa and Anthony Monti; Broderick, Nolan and Keegan McCauley; Cameron Lemieux; and Jaqueline, Jocelyn, David, Ryanon and Damien Kelly.

Loving father-in-law to Michael Monti and Jeffrey McCauley. Mr. Lemieux was predeceased by a sister, Rose Blodgett, and a brother, Raymond Lemieux.
