Virginia H. Gaetani, 83, of Rose Manor Apartments died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield on April 25, 1921, daughter of Harry A. and Clara M. Brown Cassidy, she was a 1939 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She had been employed in the ordnance division of GE for 13 years, retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Gaetani was a communicant of St. Francis' Church.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, cooking, reading and watching television.
Her husband, Nicholas Gaetani, died in 1965.
She leaves a son, Jon Gaetani of Louisville, Colo.; two daughters, Mary Lee Gaetani of Hyannis and Lucinda LeBlanc of Georgetown; three sisters, Beverly Jones and Shirley Cooper, both of Dalton, and Janet Lamarre of Pittsfield, and five grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Virginia H. Gaetani, age 83, died June 24, 2004. The funeral will be Saturday at 9 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Friends of Renal Dialysis at Berkshire Medical Center or to the charity of one's choice in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME.
She is lovingly survived by her grandchildren, Paul Sparks, Carrie Sparks, Nicole Sparks, Nicholas Gaetani and Sarah LeBlanc. She was predeceased by her brother, David Cassidy.
