Loring W. Kidder

Loring W. Kidder, 79, formerly of East Street, died yesterday morning at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield, where he had resided for four years.
Born in Newton on July 31, 1924, an orphan, he attended schools there.
Mr. Kidder had been employed at Eastover Resort as social director and manager for most of the 40 years he worked there.
He retired in 1995 because of poor health.
An avid traveler, he took annual ocean cruises.
He leaves his friends and caregivers, Robert and Susan McNinch, Dorothy Winsor and Fran and Sally Maslanka.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A celebration of the life of Loring W. Kidder, who died June 22, will take place during the weekend of Friday, July 9, to Sunday, July 11, 2004. Further information can be obtained by contacting ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox during the week of July 4-11.
Loring is survived by countless guests and employees he met and became friends with over the years at Eastover, including Robert and Susan McNinch, Dorothy Winsor and Fran and Sally Maslanka, all of whom were truly his family.
