Margaret Mary Chojnowski

June 21, 2004

Margaret Mary Chojnowski, 68, of 107 Birch Grove Drive died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Bridgeport, Conn., on Feb. 15, 1936, daughter of Harry and Margaret M. Kennedy VanWart, she attended schools in Pittsfield and was a 1954 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

She and her husband, Chester A. Chojnowski, owned Chet's Variety on Onota Street for 27 years, then the Senior Lodge from 1984 until retiring in 1996.

Mrs. Chojnowski was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

She enjoyed tea parties, traveling and shopping.

She and her husband were married Nov. 24, 1960.

Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Linda R. Saville, Kathleen M. Chojnowski, Lisa M. Flanders and Andrea T. Farmer, all of Pittsfield; three sons, Chris A. Chojnowski, John A. Chojnowski and Michael A. Chojnowski, all of Pittsfield, 10 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Margaret Mary Chojnowski, who died June 21, 2004, will be Friday at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. John K. Sheaffer, administrator.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home. She is lovingly survived by her 10 adored grandchildren Carey, Jennifer, Rebekah, Bryan, Ryan, Michael, Kody, Tate, Madison and Alayna, and great-granddaughter, Sophia. Also by her beloved pet dog, Daisy.

Maggie was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She had a lot of great qualities but her best by far was her love for the people in her life. She fought up to the end for the people she loved and the people who loved her, and for that we Thank You Mom. You will be missed. We Love You.
