Patricia E. Haun, 45, of 83D Highview Drive died Wednesday at home as a result of a diabetes-related incident.
Born in Ridgewood, N.Y., on Jan. 8, 1959, daughter of John J. and Agatha Houston Haun, she was educated in Massapequa, N.Y., schools and graduated from Alfred G. Berner High School in 1977.
She had resided in Pittsfield for six years, and prior to that had resided in Cheshire for 10 years and Massapequa for 20 years.
At the time of her death, Miss Haun had been employed for a year as a sales associate at Linens N Things at the Berkshire Mall. Before that, she had worked at the Polo Outlet Store in Lee for nine years and at the former Service Merchandise at the Berkshire Mall for five years.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Cheshire. She had participated in Diabetes Foundation walks and had done volunteer work for the American Diabetes Association.
She also enjoyed movies, music, going to plays, reading and animals.
Besides her father and mother, of Cheshire, she leaves a sister, Mary T. Demers of Cheshire, and three brothers, Dennis M. Haun of Papillion, Neb., John M. Haun of Nesconset, N.Y., and Matthew B. Haun of South Salem, N.Y.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Miss Patricia E. "Patty" Haun, who died June 16, 2004, will be Saturday at 9:15 from DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire.
Burial will take place at a later date in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours are today, Friday, from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Patty was a kind neighbor and friend to all who knew her. She loved animals, especially her two cats, Chloe and Tony.
She also leaves six nephews, Philip, Jack, Luke, Christopher, Brian and Thomas; two nieces, Shannon and Kate; her sisters-in-law, Eileen and Cheryl, and her brother-in-law, Jerry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home, North State Road, Cheshire, MA 01225.
