Julia S. Rochelo, 88, formerly of 189 Hungerford St., died Saturday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since February.
Born in Harrison, N.J., on Sept. 13, 1915, daughter of Anthony and Magdeline Wicker Milukas, she had resided in Pittsfield since 1917 and was a 1933 graduate of Pittsfield High School, the first class to enter and graduate from the facility on East Street.
Mrs. Rochelo was employed by GE in the power transformer department as an assembler for 18 1/2 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and enjoyed crocheting.
Her husband, Edward M. Rochelo, whom she married in 1935, died Dec. 31, 1992.
She leaves four sons, Edward J. Rochelo, William M. Rochelo and Donald R. Rochelo, all of Pittsfield, and Gary P. Rochelo of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Ann Lacy of Pittsfield; a brother, Raymond Milukas of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a step-grandson, and three step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Stickles.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Julia S. Rochelo, 88, of Pittsfield, who died June 12, 2004, will be tomorrow at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Mark's Church celebrated by the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Monday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. She leaves nine grandchildren, Jason, Mark, Crystal, Michael, William, Shelby and Lucas Rochelo, Dawn Stedman and Gary Stickles, and a step-grandson, Dwaine Foizy.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Stickles, and by two brothers, Michael and George Milukas, both of Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
