Susan J. Delphia, 49, of 48 Hubbard Ave. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident Saturday morning.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 30, 1955, daughter of Claire Miner Rodriguez and the late Francis Rodriguez Sr., she was a 1972 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1974 graduate of Berkshire Community College.
A self-employed floral designer and landscaper, Mrs. Delphia owned and operated Silver & Straw for more than 10 years. Previously, she had worked at GE for two years.
She enjoyed hiking, target shooting, collecting flowers, the outdoors and tag sales.
Besides her mother, she leaves two daughters, Casey Marie Delphia of State College, Pa., and Catherine Leigh Delphia of Pittsfield; her former husband, Lawrence Delphia of Pittsfield; two sisters, Mary Zancanato of Pittsfield and Kathryn Kearns of Lenox; three brothers, Robert F. Rodriguez of Plainfield, William J. Rodriguez of Rochester, N.Y., and Francis Rodriguez Jr. of Pittsfield. She also leaves her fiancé, Frederick Gallagher of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Susan will be lovingly missed by her nieces and nephews and extended families, including brothers-in-law Buddy Zancanato and John Kearns, and her sisters-in-law, Maria Stuart, Gail Rodriguez and Beverly Rodriguez.
The funeral for Susan J. Delphia, 49, who died Saturday will be tomorrow, June 15, 2004, at 7 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 5 to 7.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Springside Greenhouse Group in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
