Leon W. Zaorski

Leon W. Zaorski, 95, of the Side by Side of Pittsfield assisted-living facility died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Rabedi, Poland, on June 25, 1908, son of Felix and Katherine Grucelski Zaorski, he came to the United States in 1910.
He attended local schools and later graduated from the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago.
Mr. Zaorski was employed by GE for 30 years in the regulator department, retiring in 1970. service. He had previously worked at Pittsfield Tire and Battery.
His wife, the former Mary Komuniecki, whom he married Sept. 29, 1930, died Aug. 18, 1995.
He leaves two daughters, Mary Ann Bascom of Pittsfield and Joyce Coffey of Pinehurst, N.C., and a grandson. A son, John Zaorski, is deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Leon W. Zaorski, who died June 11, 2004, will be conducted Friday at 11 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 10 to 11 at the funeral home. Among survivors are his sons-in-law, Robert H. Bascom of Pittsfield and Frank L. Coffey of Pinehurst, N.C., and his grandson, Paul L. Coffey of New York City.
He was predeceased a son, John, and by two brothers, Chester and Stanley. If friends desire, donations are suggested to the Berkshire Music School in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
