Lucy Theresa Wallace, 83, of 1 Brum St., Bristol, R.I., died Saturday at home.
She was employed as a hairdresser in Lenox Dale for 32 years and owned and operated the Eagle's Nest Ceramic Studio for five years
Born in Portland, Maine, on Oct. 9, 1920, daughter of Walter and Jennie Jacques Bean, she grew up in Yantic, Conn., and was a 1938 graduate of Norwich Free Academy and a 1939 graduate of Springfield Academy of Beauticulture.
Mrs. Wallace moved to Dalton in 1970, where she worked for Sears service department until moving to Bristol in 1978 to live with her daughter, Sue Ann Gale.
While in Lenox Dale, she was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church. In Bristol, she was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, where she served on the bazaar committee.
She enjoyed arts and crafts and was a Red Sox fan.
Her husband, Edward Wallace Jr., whom she married July 4, 1942, died Dec. 23, 1976.
Besides her daughter, she leaves two sons, Stephen Wallace of Window Rock, Ariz., and Jeffrey Wallace of Pittsfield; another daughter, Lisa Staley of Deltona, Fla.; a brother, Richard Lefebvre of Pomfret, Conn.; 11 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Funeral Mass for Lucy Wallace will be celebrated Wednesday, June 16, at 11 at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Lenox Dale. Burial of her cremains will follow in Mountainview Cemetery in Lenox.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the "Sealing our Future Campaign," St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol, RI 02809 or to the Visiting Nurse Services of Newport & Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871. WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, is in charge of local arrangements.
