Marcia L. Perry, 66, of 560 Pomeroy Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Glens Falls, N.Y., on March 23, 1938, daughter of Martha Leroux Perry and the late Alfred L. Perry, she was a 1956 graduate of Holley (N.Y.) High School and a 1959 graduate of Geneseo State Teachers College in Geneseo, N.Y., now State University of New York at Geneseo.
She also completed some graduate work at State University of New York at Albany and at Syracuse (N.Y.) University.
Miss Perry was acting head of the Berkshire Athenaeum for the past year. Before that, she ran the reference desk at the library.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1984 and ran the Bookmobile until 1990, when it was phased out. Before moving to Pittsfield, she worked at several high schools in New York state, including Schenectady, Lansingburg, Cazenovia and Guilderland.
She was a member of First Church of Christ, Congregational, and a volunteer with Shakespeare & Company. She enjoyed music.
Besides her mother, of Pittsfield, she leaves a brother, Fred Perry of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Marcia L. Perry, who died June 6, 2004, will be Thursday, June 10, at 2 at First Church of Christ in Pittsfield, Congregational, with the Rev. Richard L. Floyd, pastor, officiating.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Verona, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to either Shakespeare & Company or the First Church music fund in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her special companion, Hans Fehrmann of Lenox.
