Eric John Phillips Sr., 43, of 100 Harvard Road, Shirley, formerly of Pittsfield, died Sunday at home of an apparent heart attack.
Born in Pittsfield on June 29, 1960, son of Ronald Phillips Sr. and Betty Baker Phillips, he attended local schools.
He had formerly resided at 31 Springside Ave., and recently moved to Shirley.
Mr. Phillips had been employed as a laborer in the construction field. He also had worked for Callahan Trucking and for Unistress.
He enjoyed working out, listening to music, especially Elvis Presley songs, and boxing.
Besides his parents of Pittsfield, he leaves two sons, Eric J. Phillips Jr. and Jesse Phillips, both of Pittsfield; a daughter, Heather Phillips of Pittsfield; a brother, Ronald Phillips Jr. of Dalton; a sister, Debra Phillips of Pittsfield; his fiancée, Sharon Mazza of Pittsfield and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Eric John Phillips, who died Sunday, May 30, 2004, will be conducted tomorrow, June 3, at 6 at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Joseph Nieves, associate pastor of Christian Assembly Church.
Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 6. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 4, at 11 in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the renal dialysis unit of Berkshire Medical Center or to Christian Assembly Church, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mr. Phillips was predeceased by a brother, Kirk D. Phillips, on Jan. 26, 2004. He leaves his two grandchildren, Cameron and Mateo Phillips, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
