Elizabeth G. "Betty" Gasson, 73, of 92 Sadler Ave. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on April 9, 1931, daughter of Alfonso and Ruth Martin Bianchi, she attended local schools and graduated in 1949 from Pittsfield High School.
Primarily a homemaker, she enjoyed crocheting, drawing and candlepin bowling.
She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Morning Star Church.
She and her husband of 47 years, Milton S. Gasson, were married Sept. 29, 1956, in Pittsfield.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Mark J. Gasson of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; a daughter, Michelle J. Pidcoe of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A second son, Milton J. Gasson, died in 1988.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Elizabeth G. "Betty" Bianchi Gasson, who died May 28, 2004, will be Tuesday, June 2, at 8:15 from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Mary of the Morning Star Church, celebrated by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to either the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter or HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Gasson is survived by her loving grandchildren, Monique M. Gasson, Sherrie L. Gasson, Milton S. Gasson II and Milton J. Gasson Jr., two great-grandchildren, Brett Perot and Milton J. Gasson III and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Al Bianchi, and her sister, Alvera Barbarotta.
