Raymond Stanley Chojnowski, 75, of 204 Linden St. died Monday evening at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 23, 1929, son of Anthony and Mary Zarzucka Chojnowski, he was a 1947 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A salesman, Mr. Chojnowski was employed by the former Besse-Clarke in the men's clothing department for 43 years, retiring when the business closed. He then worked part time for Filene's at the Berkshire Mall.
He was a member of the Pittsfield YMCA and enjoyed flower gardening.
He and his wife, the former Lillian P. Theriault, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 28.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Darryll Chojnowski of Big Pine Key, Fla.; a daughter, Cheryl Provence of Canton, Ga.; a brother, Chester Chojnowski of Pittsfield; a sister, Evelyn Karalun of Pittsfield, three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Raymond Stanley Chojnowski, who died Monday, May 10, 2004, leaves his three grandchildren, Raymond, Christopher and Heather, a great-grandson, Tyler, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests instead, if friends desire, that memorial contributions be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is handling arrangements.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin Chojnowski and Louis Chojnowski Sr., and a sister, Cecilia Kozlowski.
