Nancy E. Pelkey

Nancy E. Pelkey, 71, formerly of 31 Pomeroy Ave., died yesterday at Craneville Place, where she had resided since Jan. 26, 2001.
Born in Mallory, N.Y., on Sept. 5, 1932, daughter of Raymond and Ella Revitte Leabo, she was educated there.
She moved to Dalton in 1962.
A homemaker, Mrs. Pelkey had been employed as a nurse's aide at the former Dalton Nursing Home for five years.
She enjoyed camping, dancing and singing.
Her husband, Earl W. Pelkey, whom she married Sept. 1, 1957, in Pownal, Vt., died Jan. 14, 2002.
She leaves two sons, Edward D. Pelkey of Dalton and Rodney R. Pelkey of Pittsfield, and three brothers, Arnold Leabo of New York City, and Harwood Leabo and Bradley Leabo, both of Malone, N.Y.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Nancy E. Pelkey, 71, of Dalton, who died May 10, 2004, will be conducted Thursday at 11 at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor of St. Agnes' Church, Dalton.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 10 to 11 at the funeral home, prior to the service. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Kathy Pelkey of Dalton, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Garrned, and four brothers, George, Delmont, Lawrence and Bud Leabo. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dalton Ambulance and Rescue Association in care of the funeral home, 890 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
