Grace Arthur, 105, died Sunday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for five years.
Born in Pittsfield on July 21, 1898, daughter of Leander and Paulina Budlong Hall, she was a 1917 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She resided in New Lebanon, N.Y., until moving to Pittsfield in 1963. She lived at Rose Manor Apartments for many years.
While in New Lebanon, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Tilden Pharmaceutical Co. for 15 years and at Larabee Fuel for 10 years, retiring in 1963.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She leaves three nieces, Jane Chittenden and Mae Fisher, both of New Lebanon, and Catheryn McNeil of West Palm Beach, Fla.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Grace Arthur, 105, died in Pittsfield on Sunday, May 9, 2004. The funeral will be conducted Thursday, May 13, at 11 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Robert Rennie, pastor of First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Cemetery of the Evergreens in Lebanon Springs, N.Y., at a later date. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. She also leaves several grandnephews and -nieces.
