Caroline E. Morse, 84, of Springfield died yesterday at Riverdale Gardens Nursing Home in West Springfield.
She was the mother of Charles Morse of Richmond.
Born in Holyoke on April 21, 1920, daughter of Albert Sorton Jr. and Lillian Gray Sorton, she attended schools there and graduated from Chicopee High School in 1937.
Mrs. Morse was employed as a secretary at East Church, Congregational, in East Springfield, retiring in the early 1990s.
She also worked at Bassett and Remington printing companies and at Spencer Printing and Stamp.
She was a member of East Church and active in its Women's Guild, crafts class and flower committee.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting.
Her husband, Francis H. Moore, to whom she was married 44 years, died in 1984.
Besides her son, she leaves another son, Harvey A. Morse of Springfield; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Caroline Morse, who died May 2, 2004, will be Wednesday at 11 at East Church, with calling hours from 9 to 11 in the church parlor. DICKINSON-STREETER FUNERAL HOME of Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Church, Congregational, 60 Bowles Park, Springfield, MA 01104.
