Dale C. Tucker

Dale C. Tucker, 75, of 136 Lucia Drive died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Eskridge, Kan., on May 28, 1928, son of Eli and Mahala Cooke Tucker, he was a 1946 graduate of Eskridge Rural High School.
He moved to Pittsfield in 1971.
He enlisted in the Army in 1946 as a private in the Finance Corps, and received direct commission in Korea in 1951. He served as finance officer in several military installations in this country and abroad. He was also a liaison officer with the Vietnamese Department of Defense.
A major, he ended his 22-year career in 1968 as a controller of Southern European Task Force in Italy. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He was last employed by Kel's Auto from 1995 to 2002, retiring because of illness. Following his retirement from the Army, Mr. Tucker worked for Sears as a controller in three stores in the Northeast, and at the former Lindsey Chevrolet, Haddad Motors and Ott Motors.
He and his wife, the former Nancy M. O'Brien, owned and operated Delancy Services, a tax preparation and accounting firm, for 14 years.
He was a real estate broker for 25 years.
He and his wife were married Jan. 19, 1983, at the Lee Congregational Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, David C. Tucker of Austin, Texas, and Dale L. Tucker of Lenox; a stepdaughter, Pamela J. Budziak of Pittsfield; a sister, Amanda Longren of Carson City, Colo., and three grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Dale C. Tucker died Wednesday, April 28. Funeral services will be Monday, May 3, at 11 at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial with full military honors will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Lee.
Calling hours will be Sunday, May 2, from 2 to 5 at the funeral home. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. Mr. Tucker was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
