Selma L. Cohn, 77, of 10941 Lake Front Place, Boca Raton, Fla., mother of Dr. Michael Cohn of Pittsfield, died Tuesday at West Boca Medical Center in Boca Raton.
Born in Winthrop on Jan. 11, 1927, daughter of Harry and Mary Bass Aronovitz, she attended Winthrop schools.
Mrs. Cohn resided in Sharon, where she raised her children, until moving to Florida 20 years ago.
She was a frequent summer visitor to the Berkshires, enjoying Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow and the theaters.
Besides her son, she leaves her husband, Norman Cohn; two other sons, Dr. Robert Cohn of Cleveland and Bruce Cohn of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; a brother, Martin Aron of Hollywood, Fla., and five grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Selma Cohn, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, who died on Tuesday, April 27, will be Friday, April 30, at 12:15 at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Boynton Beach, Fla., with Rabbi Alex Lilienthal of Temple Kol Tikvah officiating.
Mrs. Cohn also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Adam, Daniel, Jake and Madeline Cohn, and Lara Siegel; three daughters-in-law, Roberta Pincus Cohn, Hedy Slakter Cohn and Hallie Guttreich. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Elsie Shuman.
The memorial week will be observed by the family in Boca Raton, Fla., and continued at the home of Michael and Roberta Cohn, 24 Brookside Drive, Pittsfield, Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 4:30 and 7 to 9.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Knesset Israel Building Fund, 16 Colt Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201 or to the charity of one's choice. Funeral services arranged by BOCA JEWISH FUNERALS, Boca Raton, Fla.
