Mary Jean O'Gara

April 25, 2004

Mary Jean O'Gara, 86, of 21 Kensington Ave. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 17, 1917, daughter of Michael E. and Letitia V. Krommes O'Gara, she was a 1935 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Miss O'Gara was employed as a stenographer and later as a private secretary at GE for 45 years, retiring in 1980.

She was an active member of Morningside Baptist Church.

She enjoyed traveling to Cuba, France, Germany, England, Ireland, Scotland and in the United States.

She also enjoyed classical music, dining out, doing crossword puzzles and going to Tanglewood.

She leaves her twin brother, Harry O'Gara of Pittfield, with whom she resided.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Miss Mary J. O'Gara, who died April 25, 2004, will be conducted tomorrow, April 28, at 2 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Linda Shaw, pastor of Morningside Baptist Church.

Calling hours will be from 1 to 2, prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Morningside Baptist Church in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
