Stephen J. Patterson

Stephen J. Patterson, 62, of 350 West St., Epworth Arms Apartments, died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on June 10, 1941, son of the late Lloyd R. and Gladys Hunt Patterson, he was educated in Dalton schools. He was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, Conn., and of the Ritners School of Floral Design in Boston.
He lived in Lenox before moving to Pittsfield 24 years ago.
A floral designer, Mr. Patterson had been employed for many years at Viale Florist in Pittsfield. He also had worked at one time at the Flower Arrangement in Pittsfield and for Crane & Co. in Dalton for 10 years.
He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, where he sang in the choir and was flower coordinator for five years.
A cake decorator, he had done work for Williams College and for private families in the area, and made specialty breads for Hancock Shaker Village.
He leaves a brother, Richard L. Patterson of the state of New Hampshire, and two sisters, Shirley Dill of Cheshire and Elaine Trudell of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Stephen J. Patterson, who died April 21, 2004, will be conducted Tuesday, April 27, at 1 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Gay Rahn, associate rector. Cremation will follow.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 11 to 1 at St. Stephen's prior to the service. Mr. Patterson also leaves several nieces and nephews. DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., is in charge of arrangements.
