Josephine E. Zopf

Josephine E. Zopf, 90, formerly of 42 Foote Ave., died yesterday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility.
Born in Albany, N.Y., on April 13, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Emma Talasco, she moved to Pittsfield at a young age and attended local schools.
She and her husband, Henry W. Zopf, owned and operated the former Zopf Funeral Home on Bradford Street for many years.
She also worked at the former A.H. Rice Silk Mill at one time.
Mrs. Zopf was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church and of its Altar Guild, and a member of the Puppet Sewers and the German Society.
Her husband, whom she married Feb. 1, 1933, died in January 1985. They were married in Chatham, N.Y.
She leaves four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her daughter, Shirley J. Fischer, died Nov. 16, 1992.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for Josephine Talasco Zopf will be tomorrow, April 27, from 5 to 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Services will be conducted Wednesday, April 28, at 10 at Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church by the Rev. Peter D. Boehringer. Following the service, burial will be in West Stockbridge Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield. She leaves her grandson, Brian D. Price of Orlando, Fla.; her granddaughters, Kathy J. Harmon and Laurie R. Maffuccio, both of Pittsfield, and Michelle F. Scalise of Lanesboro; her granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Price, and three grandsons-in-law, David Harmon, City Councilor Anthony Maffuccio and Joseph Scalise Jr.; her great-grandchildren, whom she adored, Matthew, Cody and Hunter Price of Orlando, Thomas and Michael Ryan, Shaun Harmon and Christopher Maffuccio, all of Pittsfield, and Samantha Scalise of Lanesboro.
