Frances M. Bolza

Frances M. Bolza, 88, of Fillmore Pond, Bennington, Vt., formerly of Pittsfield, died Monday at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 17, 1915, daughter of Frederic and Lillian Munson Manvel, she graduated in 1933 from Pittsfield High School and from the former Framingham State Teachers College.

Mrs. Bolza was a home economics teacher at New Lebanon (N.Y.) High School for many years until retiring.

She later worked in the mortgage department at the former Berkshire County Savings Bank.

She enjoyed gourmet cooking, reading and playing bridge.

Her husband, William F. Bolza, died in June 1955.

She leaves two sons, Richard Bolza of Bennington and William Bolza of Chelmsford, and six grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside committal service for Frances M. Bolza will be held Saturday, May 8, at 11 in Pittsfield Cemetery, followed by a reception at Itam Lodge, Pittsfield. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Vermont chapter of the American Heart Association through MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.

She also leaves two daughters-in-law, Dianne of Bennington and Susan of Chelmsford; six grandchildren, Carolyn Bosco of Berlin, Conn., Debbie and David Bolza of Chelmsford, Beth Cote of Savoy, Kristin Bolza of Winthrop and Richard W. Bolza of Bennington; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Predeceased by her sister and brother, Margaret Manvel and Wright Manvel.
