Ruth May Packard

Ruth May Packard, 76, of 139 Hubbard Ave. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pownal, Vt., on Oct. 22, 1927, daughter of George P. and Bertha "Agnes" Jones Kenyon, she was a 1947 graduate of the former Williamstown High School.
She also had resided in Hinsdale and in the Boston area.
A homemaker, Mrs. Packard also had worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, Blue Wagonwheel Cabins in Pownal, the Wimpy's hamburger eatery in Cambridge, McClelland's 5 &10 in Charlestown, and was an Avon lady.
She had attended several churches, including White Oaks Congregational and St. John's churches in Williamstown, St. John's Church in Charlestown, and First Congregational Church in Hinsdale. She sang in all their choirs, and in the first conference choir while in Hinsdale. Also at the Hinsdale church, she was active in the Ladies' Evening Circle, Ladies' Auxiliary, a Sunday school teacher, church delegate and nine-year member of the Deaconate.
She enjoyed cooking and sewing, and was a member of the Fabulous 40s of Williamstown High. Following Sept. 11, she volunteered at a food sale for the Red Cross in Lenox.
Her husband, Clifford Russell Packard, whom she married Nov. 27, 1952, died January 1995.
She leaves a daughter, Judy Packard of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Ruth May Packard, who died April 11, 2004, will be conducted Thursday at 11 at Sherman Burbank Memorial Chapel in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours will be in the chapel from 10 to 11 prior to the service.
Burial will follow. WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 is in charge of arrangements.
