Nancy Hayn, 82, of Cedar Street, West Barnstable, formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday, April 3, at Geer Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in North Canaan, Conn.
Born in Great Barrington on Oct. 31, 1921, daughter of William and Ruth Race Goodyear, she was a graduate of Lee High School.
She resided in Pittsfield for many years before moving to Cape Cod.
During World War II, Mrs. Hayn was a draftsman at GE.
She was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable and a volunteer for many of its activities. While in Pittsfield, she was an active member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church and a Boy Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader for several years.
Her husband, Donald E. Hayn, died June 12, 1992.
She leaves two sons, the Rev. Donald W. Hayn of Whitehall, Pa., and Russell J. Hayn of Becket; two daughters, Carol L. Parkman of Swanzey, N.H., and Gretchen L. Hayn of Norfolk, Conn., eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Service for Nancy Hayn, who died April 3, 2004, will be celebrated Monday, April 12, at 2 at First Lutheran Church in West Barnstable.
Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1663 Main St., West Barnstable, MA 02668. TORRANT-KENNY FUNERAL HOME, 39 Maple Ave., Norfolk, Conn., has care of the arrangements.
