Clara J. Dietz, 88, of 298 Jarvis Ave., Holyoke, and formerly of 21 McArthur St., died yesterday at Holyoke Hospital.
Born in Pittsfield on May 15, 1915, daughter of Joseph and Adele Huser Dietz, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and the former Berkshire Business College.
Miss Dietz was employed as a general secretary in the office of A.H. Rice Co., retiring in 1980.
She also was an Avon representative for a few years.
While in Pittsfield, she was a communicant of St. Mark's Church.
She leaves nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Miss Clara J. Dietz, who died April 7, 2004, will be conducted Friday at 10 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor of St. Mark's Church. There will be no calling hours.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Shriners' Hospital in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Miss Dietz was predeceased by two sisters, Emma Ransford and Julia Sheridan. She leaves nieces and nephews Doris M. Ransford of Holyoke, James Sheridan of Rochester, N.Y., and Richard Sheridan of Monterey.
