George Everett Cook

George Everett Cook, 76, of 405 Pittsfield Road, died Friday at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

He had been visiting in Pennsylvania.

Born in Unity, Maine, on Oct. 24, 1927, son of James E. and Kate Perkins Cook, he was educated there.

He also had resided at 139 Sandy Point Ave., Portsmouth, R.I., for a number of years.

Mr. Cook was a dairy farmer for 50 years, retiring in 1990 from Highlawn Farm in Lee.

While in Portsmouth, he had worked for Vaucluse Farm.

He leaves his wife, the former Lorraine Swazey; two sons, Lawrence G. Cook of Portsmouth and Gerald E. Cook of Shippensburg, Pa.; two daughters, Doreen J. Gerson and Colleen E. McDonough, both of Pittsfield; a sister, Sally Hubbard of Freedom, Maine; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren. Another son, David E. Cook, is deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for George Everett Cook, who died April 2, 2004, will be conducted Friday, April 9, at 7 p.m. at Greater Grace Church of Berkshire, High Street, Lee.

He was predeceased by a brother, David E. Cook, and a sister, Clarissa Sanderson. CONNORS FUNERAL HOME, Portsmouth, is in charge of arrangements.
