Louis "Larry" Lucaroni, 80, of 1733 Briarwood Drive, Santa Clara, Calif., formerly of Pittsfield, died March 9 at O'Connor Hospital in San Jose, Calif.
Born in Pittsfield on May 22, 1923, son of Gino and Fidalma Stanghini Lucaroni, he attended Pittsfield High School.
A decorated Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, he was stationed in Germany with the 1388th Army Air Forces Base Unit.
He served in the Air Force for a total of 12 years.
Mr. Lucaroni was employed as a mechanic for Lee Gates Transmission Service for many years until his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Lawrence's Church in Santa Clara and, while in Pittsfield, of All Souls' Church.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing and working on his vintage cars.
He leaves his wife, the former Eloise Aragon, whom he married Aug. 25, 1956.
He also leaves a brother, Camillo C. Lucaroni of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Louis "Larry" Lucaroni was March 12 in St. Lawrence's Church in Santa Clara, Calif. Burial followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Los Altos, Calif. A Memorial Mass will take place in Pittsfield on Saturday, April 17, at All Souls' Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor.
Mr. Lucaroni was survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Evelino "Jiggs" Lucaroni, and a sister, Evelyn E. Coco. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., is in charge of local arrangements.
