Worthington G. "Bunny" Tucker

Worthington G. "Bunny" Tucker, 87, of 140 Melbourne Road, formerly of Devonshire Estates Retirement Residence and Palm Harbor, Fla., died Thursday at Providence Care Center of Lenox.

Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 17, 1916, son of Worthington C. and Mary G. Collins Tucker, he attended local schools and was a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.

He was employed for 44 years in GE ordnance department in many different positions. Most recently he was a manager. He retired in 1980. Following his retirement, he moved to Florida and spent the summers in the Berkshires.

A communicant of St. Ann's Church in Lenox and St. Barbara's Church in Florida, he was a member of GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs, the Highland Lakes Golf Club in Palm Harbor, a former member of the GE Athletic Association and a member of the Stanley Club.

Mr. Tucker enjoyed doing volunteer work for local charitable organizations and was an avid golfer.

He and his wife, the former Marion "Judy" Guilford, were married Oct. 21, 1938, in Pittsfield.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Bruce Tucker of Newport, R.I., Gary Tucker of Richmond and Shaun Tucker of New Marlboro, and one granddaughter.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Worthington G. "Bunny" Tucker, 87, died March 25, 2004. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Toby Tucker of Manhattan, and his three daughters-in-law, Joanne Tucker of Newport, R.I., Dr. Pamela Miller of Richmond and Elizabeth Quigley of New Marlboro.

In honoring Bunny's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral. The family will receive friends on Sunday from noon until 3 at Lenox 218 Restaurant, 218 Main St., for a celebration of his life.

If friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.
