Mary T. Levee

Mary T. Levee, 70, formerly of 131 Lincoln St., died yesterday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for a year.

Born in Pittsfield on July 18, 1933, daughter of Robert B. and Margaret Spence Levee, she was a 1951 graduate of St. Joseph's High School. She also graduated from the Lenox Hill School of Nursing in New York City in 1954.

In 1979, she earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University Without Walls at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In 1984. she received a master of arts degree in human technology from American International College.

She had been employed as a right-to-life counselor for the Right to Life in Berkshire County for many years. She had also worked at Berkshire Medical Center as a registered nurse.

She first worked at the Eye, Ear and Nose Hospital in New York for seven years.

Ms. Levee was a member of St. Joseph's Church.

She enjoyed nursing, swimming, traveling, animals and interacting with people.

She leaves two brothers, Robert Levee of Alexander City, Ala., and John Levee of Ossa, Calif. She also leaves her caregivers, Raymond and Grace Hastedt of Richmond.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Miss Levee will be Tuesday at 10 at the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 10 at the funeral home. Among survivors are several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
